NHMFC President Carlo Luis P. Rabat delivers his message in support of Imperial Homes Corporation’s launching of the country’s first solar net-metered community in Via Verde, Trece Martires, Cavite.

The National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) supported Imperial Homes Corporation’s (IHC) launching of the Philippines’ first ever solar net-metered community in Via Verde, Brgy. Cabuco, Trece Martires, Cavite.

Net-metering is a government program that allows solar powered home users to contribute excess electricity to the power grid, leading to a more stable power grid.

In his message, NHMFC President Carlo Luis P. Rabat  stressed that this is a significant milestone for both the housing and energy sectors. He reiterated NHMFC’s commitment to support housing developers of green projects under the latest iteration of its Housing Loan Receivables Purchase Program (HLRPP) – BALAI BERDE Program.

“I would like to point up NHMFC’s support to Imperial Homes Corporation  as you continue to build affordable green housing for every Filipino. We also hope to gain more partnerships with other developers under the BERDE Program so that together, we can establish more sustainable and resilient communities like Via Verde, Trece Martires,” President Rabat said.

The NHMFC President also believes that this is a victory for both our mother Earth and the housing sector. With the 550 houses built for the Filipinos integrated with solar solutions, the whole community is projected to save as much as P1.2B while generating clean energy.

Imperial Homes Corporation is one of NHMFC’s partner-developers under the BERDE Program, Through the BERDE Program, NHMFC helps address the liquidity needs of housing originators  for a continuous construction of more green projects.

The BERDE Program was created to incentivize and promote the construction of green housing projects by offering a liquidity facility for originators.  With its fixed interest rates of as low as 3%, a Loan to Value Ratio of 100% and the provision of an interest subsidy in the form of interest reduction of up to 1% for low-income families owning a home with green features was made possible.
