Amidst the threat of the global pandemic and alternative work arrangement, the National Home Mortgage Finance Corporation (NHMFC) successfully launched its Online Housing Fair 2021.
Led by the Fund and Assets Management Group OIC-Vice President Carolina Cortez, this year was only the second year that the corporation held its housing fair online. With the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) advancement, NHMFC developed its in-house system specifically designed for this housing event.
Bidding period for the foreclosed properties for sale was opened to the public from October 25 to November 26, 2021. The opening of bids and the announcement of the most responsive bidders was held virtually on November 29, 2021. Out of 555 published properties, 102 accounts received the highest bids totaling ₱70.61 million compared to ₱50.09 million floor price.
In his opening message, NHMFC President Carlo Luis P. Rabat thanked the participants for this year’s fair. “As we open your bids today, we are also opening a new hope for you, our fellow Filipinos, who wish to have a home you can call your own” he said.

For transparency, NHMFC showed a video of how the bids submitted are securely stored in the Online Housing Fair System. The assignment of new system passwords by FAMG OIC-VP Carolina Cortez and Asset Management Department OIC- Manager Mercedita Lorenzana was witnessed by Commission on Audit representative, Ms. Rowena Bendicion, and Internal Audit Representative, Ms. Nerissa Reyes.
